This is beyond fantastic. The entire run of LIFE magazine as a weekly is now archived on Google Books. 1,860 full issues from 1936 to 1972.

Such an amazing resource of American culture, historic events, photography, and advertising. What might Don Draper think of some of these? Also, note how the AdWords change to fit the content of each page you read.

I realize that his work has made its way across the interwebs many times before, but I really like how Paris artist Orioto paints new life into classic video game settings.

The cinematic outro to The Beatles: Rock Band is now online for your viewing pleasure.
According to Smelly Cat, director Pete Candeland of Passion Pictures has created cinematics like this (and the amazing intro) for every chapter completed in the game.
Appropriately, the animation is inspired by the Apple building rooftop concert on January 30th, 1969, which was The Beatles’ last live public performance.

The Hubble Space Telescope is alive, refurbished, and delivering fresh images.

“This marks a new beginning for Hubble,” said Ed Weiler, associate administrator for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate. “The telescope was given an extreme makeover and now is significantly more powerful than ever, well-equipped to last into the next decade.”
